Moonbots 2.0 Challenge Team 364

Time until Phase Two ends:

We’re Moving On! Tuesday July 5, 2011

Raider Robotix is honored to have been selected as one of the twenty teams to move forward to phase two of the competition as finalists! We have a lot of work ahead of us to complete the following objectives required for the second part of the contest:
Prototype and design our LEGO Moonbot in CAD
Blog/Video Blog at least every two weeks (though we promise to update you on our progress as frequently as we can!)
Organize and complete a STEM Outreach project (which we’ve already started)
Document and demonstrate the STEM Outreach project
Good luck to all of the other finalists!http://thelaunchpad.xprize.org/2011/07/twenty-finalists-named-in-moonbots-20.htmlshapeimage_8_link_0

It looks like the CEO of an important space organization is in a bit of trouble. Maybe Raider Robotix can help him!

The Video Essay Is Up! Sat. June 25, 2011

We have finished our video essay, which proposes some creative ways about how robots can influence future space missions. We had fun making it and hope you enjoy watching it!

Though the video had to be edited down to four minutes, you can read the extended manuscript.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MV6oYpKVncVideo_Essay.htmlshapeimage_9_link_0shapeimage_9_link_1
Nearing Completion Friday June 24, 2011

We’re almost done compiling all of our materials for Phase One! Our robot design proposal has just been posted and our video essay is in the editing stages. Check back by the end of the weekend to see the finished product! Proposal.htmlshapeimage_10_link_0
Welcome! Start your engines! Wednesday June 22, 2011

With final exams done and school let out for the summer, we’re now able to focus all of our attention on the Moonbots challenge! We have a little over four days to finish all of the objectives for Phase One. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Kristian designed and has been making improvements to the website.
Sue, Tommy, and Joey have outlined and written a script for our video essay on the topic “How can robots influence future space missions, including missions to the moon?”— filming starts tomorrow!
The robot design proposal is underway.
Registration for our annual summer LEGO camp has filled! We love teaching robotics and STEM concepts to the younger members of our community and can’t wait for it to start!
We’re excited to be competing in the Moonbots Challenge for the first time and can’t wait to see what solutions all of the teams come up with for their submissions! http://lego.raiderrobotix.org/shapeimage_11_link_0
